As we reflect as a group and recover from the fun on the recent sixth annual dance affair, "The Black Out", we would like to thank everyone for your continued attendance during our event. None of this is possible without your support.
The early birds and locals got the party started on Thursday night with the sounds of 3D's own DJ Butta at THE WARM UP SET held at Boujetto's Bar & Grille in Maple Hts, Ohio.
Friday night was the REP YO CITY set with Milwaukee's DJ Shorty Smooth (by way of CLEVELAND!). Cities that were reppin' this weekend included Akron, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Oakland, Washington DC, New York City, Detroit, Toledo, Milwaukee, Raleigh, Houston, Phoenix, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Columbus, Dayton, Warren, Cincinnati, Chicago, Flint and so many more... Big acknowledgement to our city of Cleveland, Ohio, for extending the hospitality to our guests this weekend.
Detroit to Cleveland Connection's Donald Gardner and Thelma Williams provided the smooth urban ballroom moves at our workshop Saturday morning as well as Chicago's Royce Banks and Charnice Simmons for the steppers workshop.
Afternoon mayhem happened when everyone let loose and forgot about steppin' for our first (and not last) MidDay Party with hosts Shorty Smooth and Akron's own Selwyne Hodges. Champion of Musical Chairs was Cleveland's own Janee Moss and Hula Hoop contest winner was Maurice "Reese" Thomas (Chicago)! There was also a Giant Connect 4 challenge (where William Barnes from Chicago was taking no prisoners), conga lines, lip sync contests, Twister, ol' skool dancing and more. You had to be there!
The main event, THE BLACK OUT, had Chicago's DJ Mellow Khris rocking the spot and packing the two dance floors Saturday night. The two musical hosts tag-teamed on Sunday that kept theSTEPPERS BRUNCH on Sunday with the same excitement that was held all weekend, while people ate chicken & waffles and other delicious food and danced until the very end!
