THE BLACK OUT – WHAT A PARTY!
|
As
we reflect as a group on the recent fifth annual dance affair, "The
Black Out", we would like to thank each and every one of you for your
continued support, feedback and love shown to us during our event. We
continue to keep meeting wonderful new people every year with new cities
and states that venture here to Cleveland and reunite with many of
our stepper friends in the dance community.
Friday night was the kick-off with our female instructors,
Sherry Gordon (Detroit) and Cheryl "Sugar Foot" Powe (Atlanta),
for a ladies only workshop. REP YO CITY was musically hosted by
Detroit's DJ Rodney Mack and Chicago's DJ Calvin. We appreciate the
cities/states that were reppin' including: Akron, Pittsburgh, Atlanta,
Miami, Oakland, New York City, Detroit, Toledo, Milwaukee, Raleigh,
Charlotte, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Houston, Columbus, Dayton,
Youngstown/Warren, Cincinnati, Chicago, Flint, Saginaw, Virginia,
Connecticut, and so many more... Of course, our hometown city of Cleveland,
Ohio came in full effect.
Saturday morning provided an intense yet rewarding Zumba
workout featuring our returning Cleveland instructor Angie Smith. For those
that are local and enjoyed her class, be sure to check out her schedule
that is posted on our Facebook fan page. Tell her Dancin' Dons & Divas
sent you!
Our Cleveland-turned-Southern Gal Erika Little (Raleigh)
provided our line dance instruction on Saturday as well as the "men's
only" workshop with our male instructors Tyk Myn (Chicago), Darrel
Davis (Chicago) and Drew Alexander (Detroit). The Ultimate Steppers
Workshops geared for all levels as well as the walkers workshops remain
popular as participants work on getting their skills together.
The main event, THE BLACK OUT, with DJ Cross and DJ Mellow
Khris (both from Chicago) had the packed crowd singing and dancing for the
entire night! DJ Shorty Smooth (Milwaukee) kept the STEPPERS BRUNCH on
Sunday movin' and groovin' while people ate chicken & waffles and other
delicious food and danced until it was time to end. Check out the pics
below of the die-hard steppin' "dons" and the "divas"
at the brunch.
